Joshua Safeek - Manufacturing Cement

Joshua Safeek is the former Caricom Cement Company Chairman and is responsible for much of the property development in and around his native Georgetown, Guyana. Guyana is a small country in northern South America that is ripe for development and renewed economic opportunities for its citizens. Dr. Safeek spent 15 years in the United States learning how to run businesses and earning Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Business Administration. He returned to his home country in 1997 to help develop new opportunities for all of his countrymen by running investment and development firms in the capital.

Joshua Safeek Joshua Safeek knows all about cement manufacturing and how valuable it is in modern development. In the modern age, cement has become a necessary and reliable construction resource found all over the world in all kinds of buildings and roads. That’s why Joshua Safeek wanted to head Caricom Cement Company in Georgetown. He wanted to provide a way for developers to get the materials they need to make dreams come true. The raw materials used to make cement varies. Some cement is made with limestone, others with clay or even iron ore. To get from this raw material to a fine powder that can be mixed with water to form the rock-like substance we all know and love, the raw materials have to pass through a closely controlled, monitored process that involves high heat and the careful injection of chemicals and other materials.

Joshua Safeek is now the Chairman of Safeco Holdings, which invests in local construction projects and more to bring investors the best returns possible while empowering the Guyanese community.
