Joshua Safeek - Manufacturing Cement

Joshua Safeek is the former Caricom Cement Company Chairman and is responsible for much of the property development in and around his native Georgetown, Guyana. Guyana is a small country in northern South America that is ripe for development and renewed economic opportunities for its citizens. Dr. Safeek spent 15 years in the United States learning how to run businesses and earning Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Business Administration. He returned to his home country in 1997 to help develop new opportunities for all of his countrymen by running investment and development firms in the capital.

Joshua Safeek Joshua Safeek knows all about cement manufacturing and how valuable it is in modern development. In the modern age, cement has become a necessary and reliable construction resource found all over the world in all kinds of buildings and roads. That’s why Joshua Safeek wanted to head Caricom Cement Company in Georgetown. He wanted to provide a way for developers to get the materials they need to make dreams come true. The raw materials used to make cement varies. Some cement is made with limestone, others with clay or even iron ore. To get from this raw material to a fine powder that can be mixed with water to form the rock-like substance we all know and love, the raw materials have to pass through a closely controlled, monitored process that involves high heat and the careful injection of chemicals and other materials.

Joshua Safeek is now the Chairman of Safeco Holdings, which invests in local construction projects and more to bring investors the best returns possible while empowering the Guyanese community.

Investing in property can be a risky proposition, but as Joshua Safeek knows, owning and developing property can be a great way to add diversity to an investment portfolio. Joshua Safeek helps his investors find the right property development projects. Some of the investment methods he uses to help his customers include using a real estate investment group, which pools the investment funds of two or more individuals or organizations to purchase, develop, manage, and sell properties. Safeek has partnered with several investors at once to develop property in Georgetown and beyond. While this kind of investment usually involves a larger initial investment than other property investment methods, such as real estate investment trusts. In managing these kinds of investments, Safeek and Safeco Holdings manage and advertise for investors to protect them.

Joshua Safeek has created many opportunities for investors to develop new and better properties in Georgetown and elsewhere in Guyana. He hopes to continue to provide sound investment strategies in property for his clients.

Joshua Safeek - History of Guyana

Joshua Safeek comes from Georgetown, Guyana, a small, unique country in northern South America with a long history of colonialism and native traditions. Safeek and businessmen like him benefitted greatly from the country’s declaration of independence in 1966, opening the country up to investment and free enterprise by its residents. Safeek moved to Nashville, Tennessee and lived there for 15 years to earn his education in business. When he returned to his hometown, the capital of Guyana, in 1997, he founded Caricom General Insurance Company in Georgetown, the start of his business career in his native country.

Guyana was a Dutch and then a British colony until 1966. It officially became a republic in 1970 and received international attention in 1978, during a particularly bizarre piece of American history. Joshua Safeek remembers when 918 members of the People’s Temple killed themselves in Jonestown, a settlement the cult’s leader, Jim Jones, had led his followers to create. Jones’ bodyguards also attacked a small plane trying to escape the insanity in the jungle, killing five people, including Leo Ryan, who remains the only US congressman assassinated in the line of duty. Joshua Safeek wishes that his country was known for its unique standing in the Caribbean and South American community rather than Jonestown.

Joshua Safeek works in Georgetown to help clients and investors meet their financial goals. His financial experience and expertise are invaluable to his company and his customers. Safeek continues to serve his community by donating to local and national charities as well as small orphanages and other charitable organizations.
